I am an architect with experience working in projects in France, Vietnam, and Cambodia. These experiences from conception to construction have given me vast opportunities to refine my skills and to enhance my post-graduate studies at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture et de Paysage de Bordeaux. I earned my architect degree through a 5-year study at the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City.
I think architecture is a language, in the sense that it implies a personal system of glossary and syntax. Architecture-making is, therefore, like phrase-making. It's a way to externalize thoughts. Therefore, there mustn't be any arbitrary authoritarianism in which one's thought should begin. Whether they're drawings, videography, writings, science papers, the news, or the movie seen the day before, an idea never comes foretold, and never stations at one scale. An idea rather applies itself freely shall it be given a chance.
I believe in a transversal substance of creativity in-between disciplines. Therefore, I want an architecture that's sensible culturally and contextually. My experience of working with various artistic media has helped sharpen my look at how a city, a culture, and its population are intertwined and how architecture plays its role in a culture's construction. These remarks have urged the investigations that are organized in my début "Poetic Significance, Sài Gòn Mid-Century Modernist Architecture"
