Yang is the seen, Yin is the un-seen. In the traditional house, what is yin, what is yang? Yang is, after all, a wooden roof structure and a system of detachable walls. Yet the Yin is infinite, the Yin is all that remains, from the inside out. And the patio is the most balanced point of the Yin between inside and outside, between activities and stillness. So the terrace is a place to "enjoy" life. So in shophouses, where the demand increases, the area decreases, but the construction technology develops, what is the yin and what is the yang? And how would the balanced point of Yin, the invisible and negative part where everything happens, turn out?
